Eeko for device collection and data destruction

May 19, 2026 | From the editors

Eeko takes care of the collection of printer cartridges and devices, such as mobile phones and tablets, for data erasure. This process guarantees safe and efficient collection, certified data erasure, and support for charities. This way, the company contributes not only to a better environment but also to social projects.

Eeko aims to create a sustainable future by promoting the reuse and recycling of electronic devices. Collection through this company has several advantages:
  • Its collection service is completely free. Every participating organization receives free collection boxes, which the company then collects.
  • Usable devices are given a second life, while non-usable items are recycled responsibly.
  • A portion of the proceeds from the collected devices will be donated to a charity of your choice, allowing participating organizations to make a social contribution.
  • A secure and certified data erasure service, so there are no worries about privacy-sensitive information.
The collection process at Eeko consists of the following steps:
  • Step 1: Register via the website or by phone. A collection box will be delivered to your location within 48 hours. Specially designed for collecting ink and toner cartridges, mobile phones, and tablets.
  • Step 2. When the collection box is full (with at least 20 items), report this by email or phone. Eeko will ensure that the box is collected within 48 hours and a new box is delivered if desired.
  • Step 3. After collection, the cartridges, mobile phones, and tablets are carefully processed. Reusable devices are given a second life through refurbishing. Unusable items are sustainably recycled to recover valuable raw materials. Smartphones, tablets and laptops are wiped with certified data erasure software. Destruction of devices that are no longer usable or cannot be safely disposed of
  • Step 4. Donation of a portion of the proceeds goes to a charity chosen by the participating organization.
