Onic Blue qualified for use with chlorine dioxide

April 14, 2026 | From the editors

Onic Blue has received approval from the Board for the Authorization of Plant Protection Products and Biocides (CTGB) for its chlorine dioxide concept under registration number 16197N. This approval allows chlorine dioxide to be used as an alternative management technique for controlling Legionella in drinking water. This is a significant step, given the growing need for effective water safety solutions.

Chlorine dioxide has proven itself as a reliable disinfectant, used for years throughout Europe, particularly in the food industry. Using chlorine dioxide in collective drinking water systems offers a sustainable and efficient way to combat Legionella. OnicBlue developed this innovative technology and obtained accreditation under the new BRL 14010-3, specifically designed for chlorine dioxide.
