Improve building performance without a maintenance order

Thursday, June 4, 1:30 PM, Room 1
Speaker: Ian van den Brink
Organization: NVDO

What can a facility manager or facilities team do differently starting tomorrow to positively influence building performance, comfort, sustainability, and even costs without immediately issuing a maintenance order?

And vice versa: What can the maintenance professional do differently tomorrow, without immediately initiating a facilities assignment?

Prior to the trade fair, NVDO is organizing a targeted brainstorming session with facility and maintenance professionals. In this working session, we bring together practical experiences, concrete case studies, and recognizable dilemmas. We work based on one clear ground rule: what can be done *now*, within existing roles and without investment projects or technical adjustments? The results are compiled, refined, and translated by NVDO into a compact, clear set of 6–10 immediately applicable recommendations, which will be presented during the Vakbeurs Facilitair as a practical guide for the field.

The result is a compact and slightly thought-provoking publication with concrete, immediately applicable actions.

The presentation shows:

– Where Facilities can steer itself

– Where Maintenance begins

– How both disciplines reinforce each other

– And why collaboration starts with ownership

Practical, recognizable, and immediately usable for every facility or maintenance professional who wants to exert more influence on building performance — without falling into us-versus-them thinking.
