No more overloaded 16A circuit breakers in the meter cupboard after a power outage.

May 6, 2026 | By

Failures following a power outage are a persistent and costly problem in modern work environments. Particularly in sectors where continuity is crucial, such as hospitals and insurance companies, a single overloaded 16A circuit breaker can lead to the failure of entire workstations, network facilities, and essential equipment. The cause? A lack of control over the switching times of connected devices.

When the power returns, PCs, monitors, adapters, and other equipment draw power simultaneously. This simultaneous inrush current is often interpreted by modern circuit breakers as a short circuit, causing the breaker to trip immediately. Resolving such a situation is time-consuming: meter cabinets are shut down, external technicians must be called in, and employees experience unnecessary downtime. Moreover, the problem often recurs upon a new power-on attempt, as long as devices remain connected.

The solution lies in smart and controlled switching: the UniDix4 transforms a standard wall socket into an intelligent socket. Instead of supplying voltage immediately, the UniDix4 only activates when it is safe and technically optimal. This occurs at the zero crossing of the AC voltage, effectively preventing inrush current.
