Signage plays a crucial role in reception centers run by the Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (COA). It ensures that residents and visitors can easily find their way both inside and outside the centers. For the past four years, POL Heteren has been working on developing effective signage for these centers.
Clear signage not only facilitates navigation but also contributes to safety. It helps residents quickly find the right facilities, such as reception, restrooms, and emergency exits. Outside the buildings, signs are important for indicating parking spaces and other important locations.
The signage is designed with the diversity of users in mind. This includes the use of different languages and symbols so that everyone, regardless of their background, can understand the information. Reflective materials have also been incorporated to ensure the signs are clearly visible, even in poor light.
The COA has placed its trust in POL Heteren and plans to provide appropriate signage for even more locations in the future. The goal remains to make the experience as smooth as possible for everyone using the reception centers.
