May 12, 2026 | From the editors

In an innovative move, the municipality of Raalte in the province of Overijssel has decided to design its own product line for school environments. This initiative aims to improve the learning environment for both students and teachers. The municipality recognizes the importance of a stimulating and safe environment in which children can develop optimally.

The new product line includes a range of products, from ergonomic furniture to educational materials and technology. One of the goals is to adapt the physical spaces of schools to the needs of the modern student. This means that the products must not only be functional but also attractive and inspiring.

Various stakeholders, including teachers, parents, and even students, were involved in the design. This participatory approach ensures that the products meet the needs and wishes of the users. Sustainability is also a top priority; the municipality strives to use environmentally friendly materials that have a long lifespan.

The municipality hopes this product line will not only improve the learning environment but also serve as an example for other municipalities. By focusing on quality and innovation, they aim to make a substantial contribution to the future of education.

It's an exciting development that's being met with great interest. The first prototypes will soon be presented to schools in the region.
