The Hieronymus School in Wognum took a significant step toward sustainability. In collaboration with the Education Purchasing Group, Saled Nederland fitted the school building with energy-efficient LED lighting. This results in an annual energy savings of an impressive 39.843 kWh.

The project included the complete renovation of the school's ground and first floors, comprising a total of fifty rooms. All classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and stairwells were equipped with modern LED solutions. The old T5 and T8 fixtures were replaced with energy-efficient alternatives, resulting in a significant improvement in lighting quality.

The switch to LED lighting has not only led to lower energy costs but also a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions of 22.551 kilograms per year. This is equivalent to the amount of CO₂ absorbed by approximately 1.128 mature trees in a year.

The Education Purchasing Group played a role in guiding the project from initial assessment to completion. This collaboration demonstrated how customization and technology go hand in hand to help schools become more sustainable.

With the new LED lighting, the Hieronymus School has a healthier and energy-efficient learning environment. Students and staff benefit from bright and comfortable light, while the school significantly reduces energy consumption and maintenance.
