The new headquarters of Shimano Eindhoven is an example of how companies can respond to the challenges of grid congestion. Despite the fact that the large-scale consumer connection will not be available for a few years, Shimano The transition to a fully electric building has been made. This not only offers a sustainable solution but also a future-proof building ready for the energy transition.
The project, realized on the H2O Business Park, was created from a collaboration between Shimano and Batenburg Techniek. A comprehensive energy simulation mapped the building's complete energy profile. This led to the selection of a ground-source heat pump, solar panels, and battery storage. These elements were all integrated into the Batenburg Nexus energy management system.
The latter offers Shimano Continuous insight into their energy consumption and ensures that energy is always available when needed. This helps the company avoid overload and gain more control over energy flows. This innovative approach benefits not only the organization but also the surrounding area, making the building well-prepared for the future.
This project is an example of how technology and sustainability can go hand in hand, and how companies like Shimano to be able to prepare for the challenges of tomorrow.
