The Radboud University Medical Center in Nijmegen was struggling with a shortage of cloakroom lockers. Moreover, the number of square meters had to be reduced in the renovation. Installing more lockers was not an option, so the hospital opted for a smart solution: dynamic lockers from Vecos.
Thanks to this system, multiple employees can use the same locker when it becomes available. As a result, the locker shortage disappeared, while the total space requirement actually decreased. Currently, more than 8.800 smart lockers are in use, distributed across seven locations.
The system offers flexibility; departments can manage lockers centrally or locally, and employees open their lockers with an access card or via an app. This ensures that usage is both simple and efficient.
Through dynamic management, Radboud combines space savings with greater ease of use. The lockers grow with future expansions and form a sustainable part of the renewed healthcare campus.
