Many patients, visitors, and staff members meet daily at Frisius MC Heerenveen. Safety is a priority. With the introduction of a customized training program and an annual plan by G4S the emergency response organization has become more structured and efficient.
Healthcare institutions are legally obligated to mitigate risks and respond appropriately in emergencies. This is only possible if employees are properly trained. Until recently, safety training was organized ad hoc, which often led to scheduling problems. According to Marco Idzenga, head of the Building and Technology department, there was a great need for greater oversight and continuity.
G4S offered a solution with a clear annual plan and customized training sessions. Employees now know what's expected of them and can schedule training sessions in a timely manner. This ensures peace of mind, increased efficiency, and a more professional approach.
The program is tailored to the various roles within the hospital. For example, there are training courses for first responders, emergency coordinators, receptionists, and technical staff, supplemented with evacuation drills, tabletop exercises, and joint exercises with the fire department.
By evaluating and implementing improvements after each training session, the emergency response organization continues to develop. The collaboration with G4S is experienced by Frisius MC as open and effective and contributes to a stronger safety culture and an adequate response in emergency situations.
