Many residential complexes face challenges with mobility scooter parking. Accessible walkways are not an option due to fire safety concerns, and basements are difficult to access or too small. This causes inconvenience and uncertainty for residents about where to safely park their mobility scooters.
Dirk Anskens, manager at a housing corporation, recognized this problem and set out to find a solution together with the residents. The result: new mobility scooter storage units in the courtyard of the complex. These units offer protection against the elements and are also accessible and safe.
In addition, space has been reserved for additional parking spaces, allowing future residents to easily connect. This approach demonstrates how customized solutions and consultation with residents lead to sustainable, flexible solutions. Residents are happy, the manager is satisfied, and the residential complex is ready for the future.
