Emergency station with smart building automation

May 19, 2026 | From the editors

A modern emergency post is being established in Almere, bringing together the Emergency Department and the GP emergency post of the Flevoziekenhuis. The new building is intended to better meet the growing demand for healthcare in one of the fastest-growing cities in the Netherlands. The project is scheduled for completion this year.

Kieback&Peter contributes with smart building automation. The installations in the emergency department are equipped with advanced control technology, including air handling units and CO2 sensors that detect room usage. This ensures that air handling, heating, and cooling are activated only where necessary. This guarantees efficient energy consumption and reliable operation, which is important in a 24/7 healthcare environment.

The collaboration between Kieback&Peter and the Flevoziekenhuis is not new. Both parties have been working together for years to optimize comfort, safety, and energy management. With the new emergency department, they are taking the next step together towards future-proof, sustainable healthcare.
