Technical documentation Emergency Response base station from BHV-Knop.nl

April 22, 2025 | From the editors

The BHV base station from BHV-Knop.nl forms the core of the emergency notification network. The device is designed for reliable communication between BHV buttons and the central platform. The station operates at speeds of up to 1000 Mbps via an Ethernet connection. Configuration is performed automatically via DHCP and default DNS settings.

For extra operational reliability, the base station features a dual connection: in the event of a network failure, it automatically switches to a 4G connection. This mechanism is activated if three consecutive ICMP tests to internet targets fail.

The device is not compatible with Wi-Fi, but future integration is being investigated. If the connection does not work correctly, a firewall setting may be the cause.

The base station is built for a wide range of conditions: operating temperatures from -40°C to +60°C and humidity up to 95%. The Ethernet isolation is 1,5 kV RMS. With this, BHV-Knop.nl guarantees a stable, secure, and ISO 27001-certified emergency communication solution.
