With the rise of the internet, document management underwent a massive transformation. It went from being entirely offline to almost exclusively online. This not only dramatically increased the number of documents, but also their availability, exchangeability, and sharing. Parallel to the development of these possibilities came the need for additional services. The necessary providers and experts will be present on the trade show floor to provide visitors with both information and knowledge.
The first needs brought about by the changes in document management related to document handling. Storage shifted from filing cabinets to computer systems, security fences and locks were supplemented with firewalls and behavioral changes, while document exchange was no longer paper-based, but via bits and bytes. Offline became online.
This also changed the need for facilities. Archive and document destruction now begins with the collection process. A range of printing systems has been introduced for printing paper documents. For storage, filing cabinets are no longer used, but filing systems, which must be shielded both digitally and physically. And individual workstations are equipped with charging systems for all kinds of devices.
